A horse is a horse...

About a month ago I purchased this little guy from etsy :

I was expecting him to be all white, but as per usual I didn't read the description, I'm an excitable shopper and it's usually my husband who slows me down to show me something I may not have noticed. So instead of all white he was pearlescent, meh.

I decided to paint it but instead of white I wanted something bold like black or magenta.
The craft store I went too didn't offer much, the pinks I was looking at were too pink and there was a great yellow but I saw another color, my favorite color and it was over.

Mr. Horse Head meet High Gloss Orange.
Then I thought "what goes best with high gloss orange?"
The answer?
Peacock feathers.
The result is probably the best photo I've ever taken in my life. This might end up being my avatar for everything!

  1. Nice! I meant to ask you last night what the horse head was about. Love the color combination of the orange with the peacock feathers - good job! :)

  4. i'm always doing that with vintage finds on etsy... i get so carried away with the 'oh my god' i've got to have it moment that i fail to note all the details...
what's so lovely is, if it had come white, you would never have known just how spiffy it would look orange... so it was meant to be :)

  6. Nice job! I always do that too buying vintage - so scared someone is gonna grab it before I do and then go back and read it - uh oh! I once bought a sign I thought was metal but it was glass - luckily Mirror Clips came to the rescue...I thought my husband was gonna freak!

  9. Hubba hubba! The place to go for great spray paint colors is Rustoleum. You won't believe how many great shades they have, you just have to go to a big box store like Lowe's or Home Depot to get the full range. But personally, I'm a big fan of orange.
