House Tour-Rhiannon and Victor
Name: Rhiannon and Victor (and our dog Mayo)
Location: San Francisco, CA
Square Footage: 501 square feet
Years Lived in: 2
Rent or own: rent
Describe your style: boho with a morbid curiosity
What's your favorite free/found item?
I found my set of dressers on the curb! The only thing I've changed on them are the knobs.
What's your favorite purchased item?
Hmm...most of the things in my apartment are hand-me-downs, thrifted, or from Ikea, but I splurged on my blue pouf and I love it (though I got it for a good deal on E-bay!).
What has been your biggest obstacle in decorating/design?
Living in a rental and having to work around and accept things like carpet and bad linoleum.
Is your design style organic or planned?
In each room I started with a color scheme and everything else came together on it's own.
What is your favorite spot in the house?
My bay window. I love sitting there to read, drink coffee, look out the window or play with my dog!
How has your style changed in the past 5 years?
I've learned to hold out and wait for things I really like and as a result I think my style has become more sophisticated.
What is your favorite resource or store?
Community Thrift in the mission, Etsy, Urban Ore, and the Alameda flea market.
What is your biggest decorating/design pet peeve?
When things are too matchy matchy and impersonal, I am most inspired by a place that conveys the owners personality or can spark an interesting conversation.
What has been your favorite design trend?
Trends inspired by nature.
What is the biggest influence on your design/decorating style?
Music, fashion, art, and travel.
What in your home dictates how you design/decorate?
My big windows and all the natural light in the main room, I wanted to keep the room feeling bright and airy.
What is the simplest thing you have done that has made the biggest impact?
Decluttering and organizing makes living in a small apartment possible, never goes out of style, and is 100% free.
