Moving on up...

I live a very odd life. When I was younger all I wanted to do was travel, I just had an aching in my heart to see the world and visit strange new places.

Be careful what you wish for.

Since I was four years old I've lived in eighteen different homes, seven different states, moved cross country twice and up and down the eastern seaboard three times.

My life can be summed up in one sentence: My life is upheaval.

I am a professional mover and packer, The last time we moved we only had two weeks to get to California from New York. I didn't think we could but we did.

Why do I move so much? Love. I love my husband and he's in an industry (no not the Army) where a promotion mean a move and these days you go where the work is.

I say all of this as a way of letting you know, it's that time again for us. Another promotion, another move. We have to leave the Bay Area (and with heavy hearts because we love it so). The good news is that we have until January, which is the longest time we've ever had to move. We will be going to Seattle, a place I've already lived but now that I have nieces and nephews there it will be different and my husband's never lived there so I can show him a lot of things.

You might notice the blog pace slowing down, and that's because of all the hectic stuff going on in my life, I'll continue with House Tours and try to post a couple times a week but once things have settled down I'll return to regular posting.

I just wanted to let you know what was going on with me.

Btw, I loved the green you had on your blog, it was so unique, fresh and...you! Not that this one is bad, it's a lovely shade of blue...just the previous one was more orginal.

I'm still debating the color change, nothing is permanent!

  5. Oh my goodness, Ana, I had no idea we had so much in common. I was like that as a child too and as an adult, have been moving nonstop. (I'm quite proud of my packing/unpacking skills!) I've also lived in SF and NY and now I'm in Seattle(!) Good luck with the move and all the best wishes!

  9. thank you so much, its very nice to hear people say things like that. and i consider it to be a true honor that someone would like something that i created enough that they would want to use it in something that they created. it really made my day to see this here :)
