I took so many pictures of the lobby however, I'm only showing a few here I don't want to overwhelm anyone.
If you would like to see more photos, check out my flickr set for The Parker. I"ll be adding more as I blog them throughout the week.
Here is the front entrance, surprisingly The Parker is right off a very busy road but I never heard the noise once. All the structures and landscaping really do an excellent job of concealing it.
The valet's stand outside in orange pants.
The interior doors, and first part of the lobby.
These knights guard the elevator and bathrooms.
The check in desk, the owl in the corner is so cool, I think I need it. Everybody who works at the desk wears baby blue and I think the head concierge wears a hot pink jacket.
Mister Parker's, sadly it's too dimly lit to take photos (they actually gave us flashlights to read the menu) but the food is phenomenal. I had a rib eye steak and if I wasn't already taken, I would of married it. My husband (the man not the steak) had chicken that was amazing and I hate chicken.
The strawberry ice cream was not of this world, this is NOT what you get in the supermarket.
This is the bar just outside of Mister Parker's I had the best Midori Sour of my life here.
I read in his book that Jonathan Adler had trouble figuring out what to do with this high shelf. His solution was to comb all the Palm Springs thrift stores for colored glass and put them all up there.
It really looks great. During our stay we followed in his footsteps and visited a ton of thrift stores there.
The staff and service at The Parker is so accommodating, as you would expect from a five star hotel, we had dinner one night in this lobby. Basically you could get food anywhere you like. Even in the spa. While I was getting a pedicure the woman said she once had someone eat waffles in there!
This is the outdoor lobby.
Don't forget to check out my flickr set. Tomorrow; The Grounds!
Love it. I see that owl pop up occasionally on eBay (search for jere owl), and I found one in Chicago on a recent visit, but it was sadly missing an eye.
ReplyDeleteOh Christina thanks! I had no idea what to search under and if you put in "vintage owl sculpture" on ebay or etsy about a million things come up.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many interesting things to see around every corner. I watched the reality show "Welcome to the Parker" just to see the decor. Lucky you to have actually been there.
