Norma's

Still on our first day at The Parker we went to lunch at Norma's Restaurant. The Parker is imagined as your groovy Aunt's house and Norma's is her place while Mister Parker's is more her stuffy husband's (although there is nothing stuffy about the atmosphere or food).

Anywhere you eat at The Parker, be it Room Service, the Lemonade Stand or either restaurant you are in for a treat. This place has ruined me on chicken, steak even hot dogs as they do it so well anything else tastes like polyester stuffing.

At Norma's I had the best cheeseburger I've ever tasted, ever. They understand what "rare" means and I love it!

We sat inside because we are not outdoors people and given the choice between 90 degrees and air conditioning, we choose air conditioning.

It was a wise choice because we had the whole interior to ourselves!

This is the outside patio, very orange and yellow with oversized capiz shell pendant lights and bertoia chairs. I loved it.

One of the great details of the interior was all these sun plaques that Jonathan Adler had done for the place, each one was different and I wanted to take all of them home!

I had a cheeseburger and my husband had a shrimp quesadilla and Lemonades. All of it was amazing. My own theory is that if a hamburger or cheeseburger doesn't fall apart and get sloppy it's no good. This one was so sloppy, there was no way to be a lady and eat it.

I want to add that all the waiters and bartenders there are far more than their titles. They are consummate professionals and beyond friendly.

Here is the set on flickr.

Tomorrow; the lobby!
