This couple lives in the smallest apartment in Manhattan. What's shocking to me is what they paid for it.

Zaarath and Christopher Prokop -- and their two cats -- live in the smallest apartment in the city, a 175-square-foot "microstudio" in Morningside Heights the couple bought three months ago for $150,000.

When I lived in New York I lived in a two bedroom that was going for $129,000. We ended up renting it but it was 5 times the size of this place. Manhattan real estate is out of control.

  1. ugh, this article made me so mad. especially at the couple. they have their clothes "strategically stashed" at various dry cleaners? what?

  2. The dry cleaner bit made me a little peeved too. For the same price a bigger place could be had in one of the boroughs.
