These are antique opera glasses that had been given as a gift to my parents years ago that I've co-opted for myself. Opera glasses became popular in the early 19th century and these were made by a well-known French company called Zingraff. I think I love it so much because not only is it an object of beauty but it conjures up romantic notions in my head of big ball gowns, ornate theaters, and beautifully produced operas.

Thanks for inviting me to be part of this series, Ana! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHow purty. And I agree, they invoke stylish times of elbow length gloves and top hats.
ReplyDeleteI just found your site via oliveandjoy and I love it! I so want a pair of those opera glasses. I am excited to stroll through your blog your posts are amazing. I want to shop at those thrift stores! Those are treasures for sure! And the price? You have got to be kidding me! I think even if I fly to where ever you are, and visit those stores I would still save money.
