New Printer!

Travel back with me to five years ago, it was a simpler time. Facebook was only for college kids, Twitter didn't exist and B and I were just about to get married.

As an incredibly generous wedding gift B's folks gifted us with a new computer. We had has SO many problems with various PC's and loved what we were seeing the people at Apple come up with that we decided to make the switch.

The deal the Apple folks gave us also included a new printer. Which we were stoked about. Our (then) current printer was an HP and it was awful. It would turn off by itself, quit jobs and print out gibberish. We were so happy to get a new one, we were hoping for a Canon or an Epson.

To our complete disappointment all they had were HP's...ugh.

Flash forward to five years later and that printer is the bane of my existence, truthfully it started acting out less than a year after we got it but we lived with it. Now in it's fifth year of driving me crazy I finally had enough of it's only taking ONE piece of paper at a time, eating ink like candy, printing 120 pages of gibberish and all around sucking.

It was like having a bad boyfriend that you're never sure why you started dating in the first place. I had had enough!

To make an already long story short, I bought a new printer and it's awesome. So awesome in fact I was able to scan some photobooth pictures of B and I and blow them up:

I glued them to some cardboard and stood them up in the bedroom. I really like how they turned out. I had seen this project somewhere on some blog and I wish I could give credit to the originator of it but sadly, I can't remember where I saw it.

The old printer is sitting in the basement and I am plotting it's demise. Most likely I'm going to go all Office Space on it.

On a side note I wanted to mention how much I still love my Mac and the customer service at apple. This weekend my beloved ipod bricked up on me and despite the fact it's out of it's warranty they are replacing it for free. I was already going to by Apple for the rest of my life but this really sealed the deal.
