My grandfather collected clocks, any and all kinds of clocks: ugly and pretty, broken and working, big and small. He had hundreds of them. When he passed away last fall, I was the only one in my family interested in keeping any of them. I picked just a few at first, but couldn't bare the thought of separating them, so now my whole apartment is filled with clocks. Most of them mid-century, some manufactured in interesting countries like GDR, Czechoslovakia and USSR, some just odd or funny. Every time I visit my grandmother, I end up "saving" another clock or two. I love the fact that they all have so much history and how they remind me of my grandfather.
